Our retreat has plenty of books. Facilities include an outdoor hot tub, Wifi, a projector to cast movies, a full shower, cooking facilities (gas cooker/microwave), flush toilet, fire pit (fire restrictions may apply), outdoor furniture, and Weber BBQ. Most people find the ever-changing view is enough....
After arriving at your secure car park, your luggage will be transported to the hut. Transport is available for those unable to walk steadily uphill across rolling terrain for twenty minutes.
Kūkupa Matairangi sleeps two people in a Queen bed.
Breakfast condiments are provided as is a complementary platter and bottle of local wine on arrival (not available for 1 night bookings).
* There is a service surcharge to reheat the outdoor hot tub. We will turn on the hot tub upon your arrival and you will need to turn it off when you are happy with the temperature. The hot tub may not be available when there is an extreme draught and/or fire ban.
No camper van, trailer or boat access to the property.

Magic getaway
Modern, well-spec'd, cosy batch in a beautiful, elevated setting with absolutely stunning views south over Akaroa . Lyn and Malcolm were amazing hosts and went the extra mile to look after us. The hot tub in such a private setting is a great touch.
About host
Malcolm and Lyn own Akaroa Lavender and work with a team of people who support them throughout the year. Their philosophy is to maximise the return from this property by working within the natural boundaries of the property's framework. Having owned the property for over 35 years, they have planted over 35,000 plants - transforming the land from open grassy paddocks to a showcase of regeneration. Their lavender is organically grown with the management of the remainder of the property largely following organic principles. Guests are free to explore walking tracks at the farm.
Guests soak in some of the best views of Akaroa Harbour, walk amongst the regenerating forest, hear songbirds, and enjoy the vivid colors of the farm.
Choose to stay in a range of exclusive accommodations, experience lavender fields, Arataki (guided) walks, kaitiakitanga (conservation) and outstanding manaakitanga (hospitality).
